It explains the terms of cover for reference purposes only and does not supersede the official policy wording.For direct billing arrangements, please follow these steps:
1. Check if your Medical provider is a Panel Provider:
- Visit the BUPA Facility Finder Website and scroll down to the country where you seek treatment.
- If your provider is listed, then the medical provider may accept BUPA's GOP (Guarantee of Payment)
- If not, you may need to use the Pay & Claim arrangement.
2. Confirm your medical provider's direct billing capabilities
- Contact your provider to confirm if they accept GOP for your treatment.
- Some providers may only accept for inpatient and not for outpatient treatments.
- If the medical provider will not accept GOP for the treatment you need, you may need to pay upfront & then seek reimbursement, OR find an alternative provider that offers GOP.
3. Securing GOP Request.
- Present your BUPA membership number to your medical provider and request that they secure approval :
- If in Malaysia, have the Medical Provider submit the request to IHP Malaysia. The provider will coordinate with IHP Malaysia to secure approvals.
- If in Indonesia, have the Medical Provider submit the request to Global Excel. The provider will coordinate with Global Excel to secure approvals.
4. Planning your treatment
We suggest scheduling your appointment 3-5 days ahead with your provider, unless it’s a medical emergency. If you walk in without an appointment, expect at least an hour of wait for cashless approval.
Failing to secure a GOP prior to your treatment does not eliminate your right to submit a claim for reimbursement. You may pay first and seek reimbursement.Related Articles
